A 67-year-old man from Tarxien was remanded in custody after threatening his partner of 18 years.
It is understood that when he was arrested and taken to the police station, the man threatened he would “cut her head off and serve it on a plate”. He was charged with making violent threats, resisting arrest and being drunk in public.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke heeded the prosecution’s objection to bail.
The prosecution argued that the woman was “very frightened” – and ordered that the witnesses be asked to testify in the next sitting.
