A man who hid two grammes of heroin in a wrist watch and gave it to an inmate friend of his may need it back to mark time in jail.

Italian Filippo Cilia was put behind bars for two-and-a-half years and fined €1,500.

The 29-year-old had gone to visit fellow Sicilian Massimo Caruso on April 13.

He was spotted passing on the watch and security guards found the drug on inspecting it.

Magistrate Marseann Farrugia found Mr Cilia guilty of trafficking heroin in the Corradino Correctional Facility.
