A Hungarian was yesterday charged with the murder of his partner in a St Paul’s Bay apartment last November.
Laszlo Nandor Marton, 57, pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.
His partner, 38-year-old Yvette Gajda, a Hungarian mother-of-two, was found dead in her flat with more than 40 wounds to her neck in Ephesus Street. The wounds were from a pair of scissors.
Mr Marton, the father of her five-year-old daughter, was also found in the flat, having turned the scissors on himself, sources said.
Neighbours had heard the two arguing loudly all morning.
Police Inspectors Keith Arnaud and Jesscia Grima prosecuted.
