Mark David Jr Jackman, of St Julian’s, was yesterday given a six-month jail term suspended for a year after admitting to using force against police officers on Saturday night.

The 26-year-old was accused of threatening or caused bodily harm to a person lawfully charged with public duty, while performing his duty.

He also admitted assault; resisting an officer by violence or active force; using force against a police inspector and a police sergeant with the intent to insult, annoy or hurt them or others; disobeying lawful orders of an authority or any person entrusted with a public service and being drunk and incapable of taking care of himself.

Police Inspector Luke Bonello prosecuted. The accused appeared be­fore Magistrate Carol Peralta.
