Maltese wrestlers will be competing in the Wales Open Championships next month.

Wales will also host a Great Britain team and the ones from Scotland and Ireland as the tournament will be similar to that held in Malta in December where the locals distinguished themselves with a series of fine showings and commendable results.

The Maltese contingent will be composed of two officials, Kenneth Vella and coach Jesmond Giordmaina, and seven wrestlers – Gary Giordmaina (Schoolboy 47kg), Adam Vella (Senior 60kg), David Zammit (Senior 66kg), Andrea Saliba (Senior 74kg), George Vassallo (Senior 74kg), Abraham Vassallo (Senior 84kg) and Aidan Buhagiar (Senior 96kg).

Vella and Buhagiar will be making their comeback after recovering from injuries sustained during the Malta Open as the side will be relying mostly on the experience of veteran brothers Abraham and George Vassallo.
