The Computime and Synergy Software half-day seminar held at Dubai Internet City marked an important and successful start to BRSANALYTICS’s presence in the UAE.

BRSANALYTICS is a banking solutions portfolio that addresses the regulatory reporting requirements of financial institutions by systematically gathering the required data for statistical and supervisory reports with minimal manual intervention. Malta-based Computime said there was a very good response from the local financial community. Attending members included ‘C’ level executives from some of Dubai’s well-established banks and other financial institutions, such as heads of compliance, senior IT staff and chief financial officers.

During the seminar, key speakers Stephen Jones for Synergy Software and Andrew Bonnici for Computime (authors of BRSANALYTICS) spoke about the effects of the recently implemented Basel III framework and FATCA - for tax compliance of US citizens holding non-US domiciled income.

In his presentation Mr Jones emphasised the need to be assertive in the face of ever-increasing and newly-emerging regulatory reform initiatives. Mr Jones explained that “in order for banks to successfully deliver complete sets of accurate reports in a time-efficient manner, in line with the requirements set by the regulator, technologies like the web-based application were no longer an option but an absolute necessity.”

Daniel Buttigieg, international partner channel manager for BRSANALYTICS further highlighted the solution’s proven results and business benefits by referring to case studies developed in collaboration with Microsoft and existing clients.

Synergy and Computime will be exhibiting the latest UAE central bank reporting pack at the Gitex Technology fair at Dubai World Trade Centre next month.
