Ryan Gatt’s film adaptation of Palestinian-Maltese Walid Nahban’s short story Il-Kompliċi will be screened tonight in Valletta at 8pm.

Winner of the National Book Council PBS Short Film Contest, Gatt and Nahban will be present on site to meet those interested as well as to participate in a discussion on the theme of literary adaptation into film.

A screening of excerpts from another film adaptation, Mission: London by Dimitar Mitovski, based on a novel of the same name by popular Buglarian satirical writer Alek Popov, will be held before at 7pm. Popov will also be talking to journalist Teodor Reljic about the themes that inform his literary work.

■ These events form part of the Malta Book Festival happening until tomorrow at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
