Some time ago I sent a letter to a prominent MP. This letter was not delivered since the door number was not written clearly enough but the person’s name, name of the street and town and postcode were all clearly written.

A few weeks ago I sent a letter with a cheque to a person in Qrendi. This letter was delivered to a person in Qormi having a totally different name, different house number, different street name and different postal code. I got to know because the person who received the letter had the decency to phone me up to inform me of the confusion.

When I complained to Maltapost it said that Qrendi was written as Qormi. I suggest that Malta-post should have an insurance policy to cover any liabilities that could result due to the in-efficiency of some of its personnel. A simple apology may at times not be enough.
