I refer to the letter ‘Bad service’ by Charles Zammit (The Sunday Times, July 8).
While Mr Zammit is perfectly right in objecting to having his mail crumpled, I would like to point out that it is not only Maltapost staff who deliver mail to offices and households.
Indeed, Maltapost staff members have reported to their supervisors instances when other people were seen to be stuffing promotional material into a letter box in spite of the fact that the letter box simply could not take more content.
Maltapost has no control over the quality of service provided by other operators in the sector. However, our delivery staff are constantly reminded of their obligation to ensure that addressed mail is adequately dropped inside a letter box and not left partly out of the box.
