Malta will be fielding four teams in the World Pool Championships that will be held in Blackpool, England.

The tournament will get under way today and will come to a close on July and Malta will be taking part in the Open, U-18, U-23 and O-50 categories.

The men’s team is formed by Wayne Bonnici, Antoine Aquilina, Duncan Pisani, Clayton Attard, Warren Falzon, Brendan Falzon, Anton Cuschieri, Ray Caruana and Kevin Mercieca.

Joseph Zammit, Steve Muscat, Jak Carabott, Christian Mifsud and Deacon Formosa will make up the U-18 selection while Dylan Cassar, Dejan Grech, Ryan Pisani and Scott Muscat are in the U-23 team.

The Over 50 team is made up of Brian Grech, Tony Mifsud, Marcel Micallef, Christ Mills and Alfred Attard.

Apart from the team competitions, the Maltese players will be playing in the individual world championships as well as the World Masters Tournament.

The Malta contingent in Blackpool is spearheaded by Malta Pool Association president, Vince Degiorgio.
