A six-part TV film shot entirely in Malta will start to be aired on Canale 5 tonight, featuring a number of Maltese actors.

The series, entitled Sei Passi Nel Giallo, was filmed between 2010 and 2011 by Italian production company Leader Films with the help of the Malta Tourism Authority.

Directed by Lamberto Bava and his son Roy Bava, the films feature a cast of Italian and international actors and actresses including Kevin Sorbo, Andrea Osvart, Rob Estes, Clayton Norcoss, Jane Alexander, Daniele Pecci and Paolo Seganti.

Maltese actors taking part include Edward Mercieca, Paul Portelli, Ninette Micallef and Isabelle Warrington.

Set in Malta, each episode gives the country vast exposure, which the MTA said was an aspect given utmost priority when considering assistance to such projects. Six thrillers of 100 minutes each will air every Wednesday at 9.15 p.m.

“The films feature both exterior locations as well as the interiors of a number of prestigious houses and buildings in Malta,” the MTA said.

The production is co-produced by Mediaset, Dolphin Entertainment (US) and Sony Pictures.

The productions were managed locally by Winston Azzopardi and benefited from the financial incentives offered by the Malta Film Commission (MFC).
