The Malta Red Cross celebrated International Red Cross Day on May 8 and commemorated its founder Henri Dunant.
The events were a tribute to the valuable work of Red Cross members, volunteers and staff who work tirelessly all year to support vulnerable people.
“For the second year in a row, our Red Cross Day celebrations proved to be enjoyable for the whole family,” said Malta Red Cross director general Paulette Fenech.
People had the opportunity to talk to volunteers from the various divisions of the Malta Red Cross. This interaction provided them with a better understanding of what the Red Cross is all about and how there is an opportunity for everyone to be part of it.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is one of the largest humanitarian networks offering relief to individuals affected by a disaster and support to those suffering personal crises.
