Malta will be taking part in Expo 2015, which will be held in Milan later this year.

Economic Affairs Minister Chris Cardona told Nationalist MP Marthese Portelli that Malta would have a pavilion in the BioMediterranean Cluster with 10 other countries from the region.

He explained that the organisers had come up with the novel idea of thematic clusters in coordination with the general theme of the exhibition. They were constructing a number of pavilions for rent to participating countries, particularly the smaller ones, for them to design and prepare in line with their specific concepts.

The construction of the BioMediterranean Cluster was at an advanced stage and it would be handed over to the various participants on February 1.

Besides the Bio Mediterranean Cluster, Malta would also be represented in the EU pavilion together with the other member states.
