The Malta iGaming Seminar (MIGS) recently took place at the Hilton Malta – co-organised by Remax Malta together with five local service providers to the industry for the third consecutive year.

The objective of the annual event is to market Malta as an ideal and competitive place where to set up shop within the iGaming industry. Target audiences include gaming operators and service providers set up in other countries, entrepreneurs seeking to set up business in a foreign country and local service providers as well as iGaming operators already set up in Malta.

The event covers different aspects of the industry, including legal issues, logistics, Malta’s competitiveness compared to other countries and other useful information.

Keynote speakers included Finance Minister Tonio Fenech, Lotteries and Gaming Authority CEO Reuben Portanier, Mr Green CEO Mikael Pawlo, Michael Bennet from Redbet, Nick Garner, head of SEO at UNIBET, and Hillevi Stuhrenberg, manager for CSR and Responsible Gaming at Betsson.

Remax Malta has been committed to marketing the industry in Malta for the past 11 years – when the operating company, JK Properties Ltd, helped relocate one of the first iGaming companies that came to Malta, Lovebet.

Kevin Buttigieg, managing director and one of the speakers at MIGS, said: “The iGaming business in Malta holds a vast market share in our letting industry.

“There are over 5,000 jobs dependent on the industry, and in property terms, 30 per cent of residential and commercial properties are rented by individuals directly involved in the industry.”
