House prices in Malta between July and September last year were 2.5 per cent higher than the same period in 2012, according to the EU’s statistical office.

Malta’s trend contrasted with other eurozone countries, where prices fell by an average 1.3 per cent over the same year.

In Malta, third-quarter house prices fell by 1.1 per cent over the second quarter of 2013.

The highest annual house price increase was recorded in Estonia with 11.1 per cent, whereas Croatia’s 16.9 per cent decline was the steepest drop.
