The Malta women’s team yesterday beat Luxembourg 3-1 in a friendly match at the Centenary Stadium. Pierre Brincat’s girls opened the scoring on 28 minutes through Antoinette Sammut before Nicole Buttigieg doubled their lead 10 minutes into the second half. Luxembourg pulled one back through Sophie Maurer on 63 minutes but the hosts wrapped up the win with a third goal six minutes from time through Kathleen Saliba.
