Malta’s U-17 team will be vying to hold on to top spot when they face Northern Ireland in the last match of the Malta International Under-17 Tournament at the Centenary Stadium this afternoon at 12.30 p.m.

After beating Liechtenstein 1-0 and Romania 2-1, Branko Nisevic’s boys are leading the table ahead of N. Ireland and Romania, each with a win to their credit, while Liechtenstein are still without a point.

Tuesday’s come-from-behind win will have improved their morale ahead of this afternoon’s decisive match against the Irish who thrashed Liechtenstein 7-0 on Tuesday.

Romania take on Liechtenstein in the opening match at the Centenary Stadium, starting at 10 a.m.
