Aaron Falzon produced an excellent performance with 36 points and 31 rebounds as Malta thrashed Gibraltar 83-49 to level their record at 1-1 at the U-16 European Division C Championship, currently being held in San Marino.

Falzon dominated inside, making 16 of 27 (59.3 per cent) from the field. Gibraltar, in contrast, suffered some dismal shooting as a team, making only 17 of 60 (28.3 per cent) from the field and 14 of 35 (40 per cent) from the free throw line.

Zane Micallef added 14 points and Christopher Cordina had 11 for Malta.

On Wednesday, Malta, under the guidance of Italian coach Bruno Di Pietrantonio, opened their Group B commitments with a narrow 75-74 loss to San Marino. Malta, who have three points, were not in action yesterday.
