I refer to the picture showing two Malta members of the RMA Association laying wreaths at the monument in thegrounds of All Hallows Church in London, (The Sunday Times, October 14).

It is to be recalled that this monument was built at the instigation of the George Cross Island Association.

A sub-committee was set up with The Hon. Tim Lewin as chairman and officials of GCIA branches as members. The London GCIA Memorial was dedicated on August 15, 2005, in the presence of then President of Malta Eddie Fenech Adami and HRH Prince Philip, then patron of the GCIA.

The Hon. Tim Lewin is the son of the founder and Hon. President of the GCIA, Admiral of the Fleet the late Lord Lewin, who together with HM Queen Elizabeth inaugurated the GCIA Siege (1940-43) Bell Monument in Valletta in 1992.
