Finance Minister Tonio Fenech and his Palestinian counterpart, Hasan Abu Libdeh, have signed a memorandum of understanding on increased business cooperation.

Originally, the MOU was meant to be signed at a business trip to Palestine in February however that had to be cancelled when trouble started brewing in Libya.

The memorandum explores ways of developing economic relations, cooperation in industry, investment promotion including Customs and intellectual property for the mutual benefit of both parties.Mr Fenech said Malta would be helping Palestine in capacity building to start exporting towards the EU.

Dr Abu Libdeh said he was looking forward to a Maltese business delegation visit in the near future.
