An innovative agritourism business model aimed at solving problems commonly linked to tourism seasonality was presented by Livio Terilli, an Italian entrepreneur from Sensus Faber, at a tourism workshop held recently by the University’s Tourism Insititute in collaboration with the Italian organisation Connect Talents.

The workshop, entitled ‘Opportunities for young talents in the Mediterranean tourism industry: the examples of Italy and Malta’, included a presentation by Fabrizio Nicolosi on Connect Talents’ mission to promote and support business projects aimed at creating new entrepreneurial initiatives.

Tony Coleiro of TC Consult also gave a talk on the Calypso project, an international network between national tourism organisations and other public organisations aimed at facilitating social tourism exchanges between tourism destinations.

Others speakers were Reginald Abela from the Tourism Ministry and Nadia Theuma, director of the University institute.
