Graduates and young civil servants from Hungary will be able to apply for a four-month internship within the Maltese public administration following a partnership agreement signed between the two countries.

The agreement also allows Maltese public officials to do the same.

The interns will be mentored by senior officers and four Hungarians are expected to start in September.

The agreement was signed by Joanna Genovese, director ofthe Centre for Development, Research and Training at the Office of the Prime Minister, and Judit Pintz, international programme coordinator at the National Institute of Public Administration of Hungary.

Through the internships, officers can gain international experience and knowledge in the public service and learn new methods and working procedures practised in other European countries.

The agreement also promotes transnational cooperation between the two countries, strengthens public administration reform and supports the training and development initiatives of public officials.

Other similar agreements have been signed with other European countries.
