The other day I was driving behind this horse cab being pulled by a small van. As one can see from the picture, although the trailer had a number plate, it had no lights. Not working ones anyway – they were broken and the wire wasn’t connected (it can be seen dangling). This is against the law.

Worse, the third number plate, on the horse cab, was completely different to the plates of the small van pulling it. How on earth could one be believed if one were to witness some hit-and-run or some other type of accident committed by this driver?

To whom does the cab’s plate belong? Shouldn’t the third plate correspond to the other two? Shouldn’t the lights be connected and working? Is it possible that on his voyage he did not come across some warden or traffic policeman?

With such madness still on our roads it makes you wonder why traffic policeman are assigned to play around with traffic lights – a case in point being Msida circus – causing havoc in the rush hour, instead of doing what they should be doing and dishing out penalties for such offences.
