The Malta Tourism Authority’s new chief executive should have strong experience in the industry and the confidence of stakeholders, tourism operators said in a statement.

The Federated Association of Travel and Tourism Agents thanked outgoing chief executive Josef Formosa Gauci for his “sterling contribution” to the industry.

The association called on the government to recommend to the MTA board a possible successor in the shortest time possible.
