The Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry has welcomed the appointment of Paul Bugeja as chief executive officer at the Malta Tourism Authority.

It expressed its confidence in Mr Bugeja who, it noted, held “important roles” in the tourism industry in the past.

“His appointment will strengthen the Chamber’s relations with the MTA, as it has collaborated with Mr Bugeja on numerous occasions in the past, especially while at the helm of the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association – the Chamber’s partner in the Malta Business Bureau,” it said.

The chamber thanked outgoing CEO Josef Formosa Gauci for his sterling work over the past six years.
