MSV Life are the official sponsors of the 2011-12 Malta Basketball Association (MBA) national leagues for men and women.

A presentation was held recently during which David G. Curmi, CEO of MSV Life, said his firm was giving its full backing to the MBA.

“While the contribution of MSV Life to sports is wide-ranging, this is the first time that our company is sponsoring a national league of such importance,” he said.

“We see benefit in supporting organisations rather than individual clubs as without the help of institutional sponsorships, it is difficult for sport associations to achieve their aims and objectives.”

The MBA was established in 1964 and three years later, the local governing body of the sport became an affiliate of the International Amateur Basketball Federation (FIBA).

Paul Sultana, MBA president, showed his appreciation to the league sponsors.

“Big-scale events such as the national leagues need backing from corporate companies such as MSV Life,” he said.

“It is thanks to this support that we can continue to organise our competitions and improve facilities to provide the best standards that our sport deserves.”
