Eleven local and 34 international doctors recently undertook in Malta the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) (UK) part 2 Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills (PACES) clinical examination. It was the second time the exam was run by the University of Malta’s Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.

The candidates were examined by five UK and 15 Maltese examiners. The successful candidates will receive their MRCP (UK) certification, which is a pivotal step on their way to specialisation in internal medicine.

Prof. Stephen Montefort, head of Department of Medicine, was presented with a commemorative plaque by Dr Michael Rudolf and Prof. Kevin Davies,  representing the Royal Colleges of Physicians of London, Edinburgh and Glasgow, in recognition of the faculty and Mater Dei Hospital’s commitment towards the PACES exam.
