The Malta Football Players Association (MFPA) actively encourages its member to seek out educational opportunities throughout their career to ensure better prospects for their life after football.
The players’ union is collaborating with FIFPro and MCAST to provide an array of opportunities for its members.
FIFPro, in conjunction with Danish University USN, has been offering a Sport Management programme leading to a Bachelor’s degree since 2011.
It has also recently launched a new global initiative with the University of Nicosia (UNIC), that will allow professional footballers to study either Sport Management leading to a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
Both the degrees from USN and UNIC are online, allowing for the flexibility needed for a player’s hectic schedule.
The MFPA is also working with MCAST to encourage players to enroll in one of the many courses on offer.
Courses range from Level 1 Foundation Course up to Level 7 Master’s degree programmes, in fields such as journalism, engineering, sports, ICT and accounts, to name a few.
MFPA calls on any player interested in furthering their education to contact the association on info@maltafpa.com or phone 27135505.
