Following its successful seminar last month, the Malta Forum for Internal Auditors is preparing to hold its annual international conference scheduled on November 7.

Themed The Internal Auditor – Value Added to Both Audit Committee and Management, the event is geared to raise awareness about the internal auditor’s role in contemporary organisations.

Guest speakers include Jean-Pierre Garitte who has an established track record as an international governance, risk management and audit trainer and consultant.

Franco Azzopardi will bring his wealth of experience in governance and chairmanship of audit committees to the discussion.

There will be a networking session and a panel discussion and question and answer session with Bank of Valletta chief executive Charles Borg, PWC partner Simon Flynn, Ernst and Young managing partner Ronald Attard and MFIA chairman Christopher Borg.

Meanwhile, last month’s seminar, organised in collaboration with RSM International, debated the value added by internal controls.

The seminar featured RSM Tenon director Richard Smith as keynote speaker and Joseph FX Zahra, David G. Curmi and Danny Rosso. It was chaired by Mr Borg.
