Labour MEP Edward Scicluna has been nominated as the European Parliament’s representative on an advisory body on EU statistics.

The European Statistical Advisory Committee’s role is to assist the EP, Council and European Commission ensure the EU considers requirements and costs borne by information providers and producers in its statistical information policy.

Prof. Scicluna’s nomination through the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (Econ), where he is vice-chairman, is expected to be endorsed by the Conference of Presidents of the EP.
