Italian MEP Andrea Zanoni took a break from parliamentary duties and joined members of the Committee Against Bird Slaughter on their field observation trips on Saturday.

Mr Zanoni saw birds of prey leave their night roosts in Buskett before watching a CABS video about illegal hunting over the past weeks.

He expressed concern about the Government’s decision to allow the trapping of golden plover and song thrush in October and warned the decision might not be welcomed by the European Court of Justice.

Mr Zanoni forms part of the European Parliament’s Liberal grouping.
