A government MP, a Muslim member of the Prime Minister’s secretariat and a former economics lecturer are the three latest Labour candidates for the MEP elections.
The MP is Deborah Schembri, a lawyer who chairs the House Social Affairs Committee. The second candidate, Mario Farrugia Borg, is active in the Muslim community and is a member of Labour’s national executive, while Fleur Vella, an economics graduate, is now a marketing manager.
