MEP David Casa reiterated his support for a strong, effectively regulated retail services market during a debate hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce in Brussels.

Mr Casa emphasised the need to adopt the European Retail Action Plan (ERAP) presented by the European Commission, on which he recently concluded an opinion as rapporteur.

The EU Retail Action Plan seeks to create partnerships between businesses and educational institutions to ensure firms can find entry-level employees with the skills they require.

The debate focused on examining existing barriers to trade and evaluating the policies by which it is regulated.
