Following the successful 93km Sette Giugno sail to Pozzallo, the Malta Cruising Club (MCC) are now organising their traditional Summer Cruise.

The cruise will focus on the south coast of Sicily and the intention is to sail as far west as San Vito Lo Capo, always hugging the shoreline, starting from Scoglitti.

The planned route also includes the island of Marettimo and the more touristic Favignana. The suggested itineraries involve around 408 to 462 nautical miles of navigation and should take between 14 and 16 days to complete, depending on the weather.

Departure dates for the cruise are June 29 and July 2.

MCC members have been given a 48-page booklet compiled by Austin Calleja, the organisation’s secretary.

The publication includes information on each port of call as well as useful telephone numbers and VHF channels for marinas, port approaches and other maritime related data.
