The Malta Amateur Dramatic Club (MADC) recently elected its new management committee at its annual general meeting.

The committee is comprised of chairman Alan Meadows, treasurer Simon Demarco, secretary Marta Vella, artistic director Marco Calleja, marketing and PR officer Kate de Cesare, premises manager Rachel Galea, social events co-ordinator Anthea Xuereb and members Louise Azzopardi and Nella Meadows.

Formed in 1910, the MADC is oldest theatre company in the country. Its most recent pantomime Princes and the Pea attracted a total audience of over 17,000.

Its next production at the Manoel Theatre is the classic black comedy Arsenic and Old Lace in April, starring Marylu Coppini, Polly March and Edward Mercieca.

This will be followed by an outdoor production of Shakespeare’s Othello in July.

More productions for the 2012-13 season will be announced shortly.
