I hate vandalism of any kind and I abhor a vandal. With vandal acts nothing is gained not even by the vandal himself.

But, at the same time, I am not sorry for what happened – the breakage of that so-called monument at Luqa.

I do not know who is that genius who had this artistic idea of putting “rubbish” in the middle of a roundabout, at the expense of peoples’ taxes.

I appeal to the Prime Minister to stop this erosion of our taxes, not by banning monuments but by seeing that they are real ones, enjoyed by the people and executed by real artists.

I am sure that we can do better. I take my hat off to the mayor of Luqa and his council for objecting to this monument.
