The weekly lunchtime concert series at the Oratory of St Francis in Valletta continues today with a piano and flute recital.

Well-known flautist Silvio Zammit and pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa will be presenting an eclectic programme of vivacious and melodious music.

The programme features the vibrant Hasse’s Allegro (sonata in B minor) and Pergolesi’s Tre Giorni Son che Nina. A good section is dedicated to one of Malta’s top composers, Carmelo Pace, whose works have been performed internationally. The duo will be performing Sunshine in the Fields, Rondo and Moonlight in the Fields by Pace. They will also be performing McDowall’s Six Pastiches, Brook’s Some of these Days and Rutter’s Chanson.

■ The concert starts at 12.30pm. This series is raising funds for the Franciscan Church which is undergoing an extensive restoration project. Tickets can be obtained from the venue itself half an hour before the concert begins. For more details, call 7968 0952 or send an e-mail to baroccomalta@gmail.com.
