Picture an event featuring two of Malta’s latest alternative music prospects, two DJs and a promoter with a good ear for alternative music – the sum of all these parts, even without knowing who the participating acts are, already sounds like a promising combination. Now factor in the live bands – none other than Clandestines and Hey Sus, the DJs Bob and Something Flash, and the promoter putting it all together is Lucinda, and you practically have a guarantee for a great night out.

Clandestines are fast becoming the Maltese indie scene’s favoured young band, and not undeservedly either, thanks to their home-made brand of noise-pop.

Hey Sus’s self-described surf-indie-pop, on the other hand, is quickly bringing this otherwise low-profile act to the attention of the public at large, so having both bands sharing the same bill is the local equivalent of an exciting showcase that should also be double the fun.

Add to that a dash of Christmas spirit, DJ Bob’s selection of tunes, and Something Flash’s 1980s-influenced indie-disco set and away we go.

It is all happening on Wednesday at V-Gen in Paceville.

Doors open at 10 p.m. and the entrance fee is €5.
