Wizz Air will introduce a new Budapest-Malta route from May 17.

The largest low-cost airline in central and eastern Europe will initially operate two weekly flights on the route.

Flights to Hungary’s capital city at 9.30am on Mondays and Fridays are available for booking with one-way fares (including taxes and booking fee) from €27.99 on wizzair.com.

Daniel de Carvalho, Wizz Air’s corporate communications manager, said: “We expect our low fares to be a driving force in generating more tourism both in Hungary and Malta with our new route set to carry 30,000 passengers in the first year of operation.

“Maltese tourists will be able to enjoy Hungary’s world class spas, dental and health care services as well as renowned gastronomy and wineries.”
