The prevailing view in Britain seems to be that the recent British successes in the Olympic and Paralympic Games have a lot to do with the amount of lottery money pumped into their sport facilities and training.

In Malta we handed over ownership of our lottery to a foreign company, so that our lottery’s takings benefit others instead of our needs.

I suppose some sector of our tribal politics would reckon that’s good economic planning.
