In St Paul’s Bay a number of old houses with historical features have been pulled down and replaced by modern façades and so on.

The Malta Environment and Planning Authority also reduced the village core perimeter.

I’m not against any development but such units holding historical features should have at least retained the façade. A prominent Maltese architect had stated on a local TV station that all houses built before the 1950s should have their façade retained.

Will the present building be appreciated in 30 years’ time?
