I don’t agree at all with the Minister of Justice, Owen Bonnici, that the law being discussed in Parliament to reconsider decriminalising the vilification of religion would better reflect today’s society.
The Archbishop is right in saying that liberalism should not be achieved at the cost of people’s faith. Why remove articles from the Criminal Code that make it illegal to vilify religion? Why do we have to imitate other countries who have forsaken God altogether?
It seems to be the trend with this Labour government to go against the grain where our religion is concerned. Is it the seeking of popularity with those who have lost all sense of religion?
