Next year marks the 10th anniversary from the printing and publication of the last telephone directory. Conversely, in most households the Yellow Pages are still shrink-wrapped even as it is being replaced with the new one.

Now, one might say that in this day and age one can obtain telephone numbers online, but then so are the same commercial details. And not all households are equipped with a computer.

The other reason, of course, is advertising.
