The Maltese High Commission owes the London authorities €455,155 in unpaid parking fines.

The commission has 3,087 pending fines, according to figures given in the House of Commons by Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Mark Simmonds.

He informed Parliament about the value of unpaid congestion charge debt incurred by diplomatic missions and international organisations based in London between February 2003, when it was introduced, and December 31, 2013.

He had been advised by Transport for London that a total of £75,364,182 (almost €95 million) was due, with the highest outstanding debt, amounting to £8.1 million owed by the US Embassy.
