Who decides that visiting loved ones in hospital during election days is not allowed? And for the entire day, too! If this is not an infringement of civil liberties I don’t know what is! To say nothing of the cruelty to patients who look forward to visits from family and friends during their stay in hospital.

The reason given was that the patients might be influenced as to how to vote by their visitors! How

absurd! If I wanted to influence anyone on how to vote I could have done that the day before or at any other time. Surprising as it might be to those who choose to dictate our actions and curtail our freedom in this way, we are not all besotted by politics! Is this the measure of a free country? Shame on whoever implemented this policy. I am disgusted!

Why don’t we all swear a vow of silence for the entire day during any political elections? Then nobody could influence anyone at all!
