Audrey Marie Bartolo recently represented Malta at the Universong Festival in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, placing third with her interpretation of Shivers, a song composed by Miriam Christine and Deo Grech.

Bartolo, who was chosen by the World Association of Festivals and Artists to represent Malta at the international festival, was awarded the bronze trophy for her outstanding performance.

The festival featured singers from 14 other countries besides Malta, including Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Russia, Lithuania and El Salvador.

Bartolo has been involved in drama and music from an early age. Tutored by her mother, she took part in her first singing contest at the age of four in her hometown of Xagħra. Ever since, she has participated in various other festivals, theatre productions and TV shows, including the Festival Microfono d’Oro in 2005, where she placed first with the song Un Incontro.

Bartolo is also a Federation International des Organisations des Festivals award winner.
