Naxxar Lions launched their Division One league commitments with a comprehensive 7-2 victory over Siġġiewi as another round of matches were played at the Corradino Pavillion.

Despite falling behind, Naxxar turned the match in their favour to secure their first three points of the season.

Khail Drago helped himself to a brace for the Lions with the other goals coming from Adrian Fenech, Daniel Brincat, Ryan Mifsud, Christian Wismayer and Andrew Catania.

Elsewhere, Nikolay Filipov scored five goals as Mellieħa hammered Mqabba 8-1 to register their second win of the season.

The Bulgarian produced another top-notch performance for the northerners who dominated for long stretches.

Radoslav Kovachev netted twice while Craig Pickard added another one as Mellieħa made it two wins from their opening two games.

Sirens and Qrendi gave life to an evenly-contested encounter as they shared eight goals in a thrilling 4-4 draw.

Sirens broke the deadlock inside the opening minute but Qrendi managed to restore equilibrium.

On the restart, Qrendi captain Antonello Brincat netted two quickfire goals to put his team ahead but Sirens managed to find the equaliser that handed them the first point of the competition.

Luqa returned to winning ways after seeing off Mdina Knights 3-1.
