Pharmaceutical company Actavis has donated €20,000 to the LifeCycle 2014 Challenge, which will see participants taking a 2,000km journey from Fukuoko to Tokyo.
The sponsorship was presented by Sergio Vella, the company’s vice president of manufacturing and operations, to LifeCycle founder Alan Curry prior to the cyclists’ departure at MIA.
While wishing them the best of luck, Vella said the sponsorship formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme, whereby through such contributions, employees sought to improve the quality of life of members of the community.
Go has also teamed up with LifeCycle and is supporting volunteer and employee Ruth Debono to take part.
The Lifecycle Malta Foundation’s aim is to create awareness about renal disease and to collect funds to facilitate research and the purchase of equipment for the Renal Unit at Mater Dei Hospital.
