As part of the ongoing Gaulitana Festival, two events will be held today and tomorrow to commemorate the centenary of the birth of the master US composer Leonard Bernstein.

Gaulitana artist-in-residence Alexander Frey, who enjoyed a close and fruitful working relationship with Bernstein, together with local choreographer and YADA founder Felix Busuttil, will this evening deliver a talk exploring Bernstein’s life and works. Busuttil will give some insight on Bernstein’s dance traits.

The talk will be held at the University of Malta’s Gozo Campus, Xewkija, today from 7.30 to 9pm. Entrance is free.

Tomorrow, Frey will perform Bernstein’s complete piano works. This will include the European premiere of Valse Galea. Frey’s performance will be held at the Gozo Ministry Hall, Victoria, tomorrow from 7.30 to 9pm.
