In a first ever initiative of its kind, HSBC Malta organised a weekend golfing event at the Royal Malta Golf Club (RMGC).
HSBC is a worldwide promoter of golf through its Premier Golf Network and organises a series of events throughout the year aimed mostly at giving participants opportunities to develop their skills and in the process enhance customer experience.
The weekend kicked off at the RMGC Junior Academy where newcomers received tips and training under the guidance of experienced club players.
The main event was the HSBC Premier Malta Challenge, an individual four-ball stableford competition. The keenly contested event saw the participation of 52 golfers.
John Lewis won the competition, scoring 39 points through a count-back on Violet Scott, who placed second on the same score.
Alan Shaw achieved the nearest to pin on hole six.
Trophies were presented to the winners by HSBC CEO Mark Watkinson.
“The HSBC Malta Premier Golf Challenge was a success and some great talent was also on display.
“Also, the fine weather made the tournament a truly unforgettable event,” RMGC Captain David Debono said.
“We thank HSBC Malta for the support and assistance provided in organising this activity.”
Watkinson, extended his heartfelt thanks and congratulated all those who took part in the two-day event.
“Besides supporting the game in Malta, HSBC is focused on helping develop new talent through the junior golf academy,” he told those present during the pre-sentation ceremony.
